Stephen P. Norman, Esq.
Stephen P. Norman is a member of the Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC, and
California (inactive) bars, the U.S. District Courts of Delaware and Maryland, and
an active member of the Maryland Association of Justice, National Police
Accountability Project, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney's.
He lives and practices law in Ocean View, Delaware and spends part of his time in the Rockville,
Maryland office of the Norman Law Firm. He was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Rockville,
Maryland where he attended Thomas S. Wootton High School. He graduated from the University of Colorado
where he graduated with a B.S. in Business and received Cum Laude Honors.
Mr. Norman attended the University Of Maryland School Of Law where he was an associate
editor of the Business Lawyer, and was awarded for publishing in the field of
computer copyright law. He continues to write and has recently written an article
soon to be published in the Delaware Law Review in the area of Defamation
law regarding when judicial privileges are lost in litigation.
His career has included legal counsel positions in both government and
private business. Mr. Norman has founded and operated successful businesses
since his teenage years of founding with his brothers' one of the most successful
farm market operations in the Washington, DC area. His first legal position
was as the assistant county attorney in St. Mary's County, Maryland where he
represented the Board of County Commissioners, Ethics Commission, Board of Appeals,
and Planning Commission. After serving a stint as in house counsel
for L&N Reality, Inc., Mr. Norman founded Sussex Title and Escrow which he
and his partners grew into one of the most successful real estate settlement
companies in the Washington, DC and Eastern Shore areas with annual sales of $4 million.
Mr. Norman enjoys applying his business experience to his legal practice.
He believes that looking at legal issues from a cost/benefit analysis in the
eyes of his clients' allows him to provide indispensable counsel at the
initial phase of representation determining whether or not to pursue legal
action. He enjoys having a varied practice which tends
to present new and interesting challenges every day.
A statement from his early years as a litigator in St. Mary's County,
Maryland sums up Mr. Norman's advocacy for his clients. After a very
difficult hearing where Mr. Norman represented the local government
against four attorney's from the State of Maryland the well known judge
commented that "What I like about Norman is that he will fight you until he's dead."
Mr. Norman prides himself as an endless advocate for his clients
who will fight tirelessly to provide the best possible outcome for his clients.
Nicole Gaulden
Nicole Gaulden, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, joined The Norman Law Firm in September 2010.
Nicole graduated from The University of Connecticut in 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in
Sociology, where she was actively involved with the Men's and Women's UCONN basketball
programs throughout her four years of college. Nicole brings a wealth of public and
private experience to the Norman Law Firm. She is an integral part of our litigation
and technology teams, as well as the point person on the majority of our complex litigation matters.
Sherry Jordan
Sherry Jordan joined The Norman Law Firm in July 2012 as a Legal Assistant. Sherry Jordan comes to
our office with a wide-ranged administrative background. She has fifteen years of administrative
support experience in local law enforcement and municipal government administration. During
those fifteen years of full-time employment, Sherry attended college on part-time basis and held
a part time job. She graduated from Delaware Technical Community College with an Associates
Degree in Criminal Justice and moved on to attend Wilmington University where she received
her bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies. In college, she excelled academically and was frequently
named on the Dean’s List.
